The Ultimate 'Woman Cave'!

Every girl needs a place to retreat to for some R & R or in my case 'solitude' especially during footy season. We've all heard of and maybe even seen the all important 'man cave', a place where men can be men! Drink beer, watch footy on their extra large LCDs and shoot some pool! {sounds like my husband's dream room!!!}

Well, if men can have their 'Man Caves'...why can't women have their own space? A 'She Shed' or a 'She Nook' or a 'Woman Cave', call it what you will, but it's a sanctuary where you can spend some quality 'me' time, enjoy some privacy, put your feet up with a glass of vino and read a book or sometimes even invite close girlfriends to. The ultimate haven designed, styled and filled with things that make you happy!

So here are two different style boards -  GRAND SAFARI & HAMPTONS GLAMOUR to showcase the ultimate 'Woman Cave'!
1. Blue Beaded Chandelier | 2. Phyllis Morris Silver Bamboo Barstools | 3. Belinda by David Bromley | 4Helios Wall Mirror | 5Faux Cream, Pink, & Burgundy Peony | 6. Saretta Tufted Velvet Sofa | 7. Indoor Plant | 8. 'Savannah' Antique Silver Coffee Table | 9. Azure Sky Royal DARI Limited Edition Rug
A few pieces from the Grand Safari style board are my favourites like the Beaded White Chandelier, the leather bar stools from Chairish and the Royal Kaya hand braided rug from Anthology Home|Garden.

And from the Hamptons Glamour style board, I have to say I'm head over heels in love with the David Bromley Painting, Phyllis Morris Silver Bar Stools again from Chairish, Savannah Coffee Table & the Azure Sky (Blue) Natural Refined Jute Rug.

Both boards are so very different that I'm having a hard time picking a favourite.
Which one do you like?
Do you have a special place in your home you retreat to, to escape the troubles and relax in style?
I wish I had the space in my home to create the ultimate woman cave!!!

Till next time!

2016 - The Year Of The Mirror!

According to research conducted in the UK, an average person spends approximately 1.5 years of their lifetime in the bathroom! No wonder one of the trends predicted for 2016 are the use of statement mirrors in the bathroom.
Whether your taste runs from modern to ornate, round or rectangular, framed or frameless, refurbished or new, bevelled or polished, metal or wooden, mirrors are a great way to show off your personality. And here's some gorgeous inspiration to get those wheels moving.

Even in a small bathroom, a unique mirror can make a big style statement.

How lovely is this teardrop mirror?

Oh my! I'm so inspired to tear down our builder grade mirrors and hang something unique. Hmmm... I can feel an idea brewing. If it works out, I'll share with you all.

Which one's your favourite mirror? Do you have a statement mirror hanging in your bathroom?
We'd love to know!

Till next time...

'Blinging' In The New Year and the Winner Is...!

Can you believe that we are already in the first week of 2016!?!
2015 is over and packed away along with the Christmas Tree!

Albeit 2015 had it's share of ups and downs but in the end it was an AMAZING year because of the birth of our beautiful baby girl Elisha and also for being nominated for the coveted AMARA Design Awards!

And I'm sure 2016 will bring with it many many new challenges, especially trying to juggle work and parenthood. Somedays a cup of tea gets reheated six to seven times in the microwave before I give up.  At four months, day naps and night sleeps are a battle. And at times when I look around the house trying to picture my once-upon-a-time clean, tidy and well decorated home, I feel like hiding under the mountain of piled up laundry. {Kudos to all you super moms out there!}

But secretly I'm thankful for all the scattered toys, piles of laundry that need folding, constant vacuuming, spillages that need mopping, milk bottles that need washing, endless carrot pureeing and everything else thats needs doing! One cheeky toothless smile and outstretched little hands makes my heart explode with love! And some days even though I go to bed at 3:00 AM, the house gets a thorough cleaning and looks almost magazine-ready the next morning!

So let's kick start the year with a healthy dose of BLING! A little bit of sparkle always makes me smile.
Here's a collection featuring this season's hottest and sparkliest must-haves!
